Meta-viprium gas is an extremely toxic gas found inside Puffers and Plated Puffers on Tallon IV and possesses some caustic properties; it can quickly kill an organism if inhaled and can tear through even the strongest of metals. It is used mainly as a defense mechanism for the Puffers, discouraging predators from trying to eat them, but it may also be used as a hunting tool and a propulsion system. The gas can be slowly leaked for the uses mentioned above, but it will be violently released if the Puffer dies. It is similar to the Nohadin gas emitted by Preeds.
