The Weyrs are the locations on Pern where Dragons and their Riders live. For most of Pernese history, there were six Weyrs, in order of founding, Fort, Benden, High Reaches, Igen, Ista, Telgar. In the Ninth Pass, Southern Weyr was established, and an eight Weyr, Eastern has also recently been established.
