The Stillborn Pool was an egg nest located deep within the heart of a Naga island south of Rokugan. During an ancient disaster the Naga eggs died and the island became an archipelago called the Eternal Danger Islands. The Guardian of the Pools, a creature known as the Adkarst, became Naga Abomination and fell into madness during that same event. In his madness he convinced himself that the Stillborn Pool was still as it once was, still thriving and alive, still requiring his protection. The pool had a strong connection to Chikushudo, the Realm of animals. They contained over a hundred Naga eggs which had been transformed by the spiritual energies of the Islands into huge pearls.
