Lolth (LOALTH) is a drow deity who revels in chaos. She patterns her life and the lives of her worshippers on a regimen of chaotic acts and the veneration of spiders. The elves of Cormanthor know of her, and are taught in schools that she is the chief deity of the dark elves and of the uttermost evil. She was once an elf deity, a member of the Seldarine, though she was treacherous and cast from Arvandor by Corellon Larethian. Her love of spiders is particularly acute, and it was this adoration that influenced the general relationship between the drow and their arachnid friends.
