Rivik was a Barrayaran commodore assigned to Imperial Security. He was in charge of Sector IV security on Orient Station when the family of Lord Vorvane, Barrayar's Minister for Heavy Industries, was kidnapped. Assigned to rescue the Vorvanes by Simon Illyan, Lieutenant Miles Vorkosigan was supposed to report to Rivik after he was finished. Note: His name is spelled Rivik in Brothers in Arms; Rivek in Memory.
