The Emmy- and Academy Award-winning character actor has appeared in many popular films, including Iris and the musical Moulin Rouge. He won an Oscar for the former in 2002 (were Curse of Fatal Death to have been canonical, this would have made Broadbent the first actor to win an Oscar after having appeared in the series). Other roles in popular series have included in the 2005 movie The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Most recently, he has played in the Harry Potter film series.
