Charizard is a Generation I Fire-Type Pokémon. It first appeared in Super Smash Bros. and Melee as a Poké Ball Pokémon, and then made its first playable appearance in Brawl as one of the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon. Charizard returns in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, but now is a standalone playable character. It is the only one of the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon to return.
