The attempted assassination of Academy City Board of Directors member Oyafune Monaka occurred on October 9, Academy City's Independence Day of the current year of the timeline. While speaking in a concert hall in School District 7, Sunazara Chimitsu tries to shoot Oyafune Monaka. No one was hurt due to the commotion caused by GROUP despite one of Monaka's bodyguards being shot. In spite of the assassination's failure, the goals of SCHOOL, the ones who hired Chimitsu in the first place, was fulfilled, allowing them to steal the Tweezers.
