Mayon was a male member of Guosim and he helped to defend Redwall Abbey against Marlfoxes. He was captured by Marlfoxes in the final battle and was held hostage by Marlfoxes, who threatened to burn him at the stake. Mayon was freed when Janglur Swifteye and other Redwallers attacked the Marlfoxes' forces.
