Gertrude Phillipson (22 March 1878 — 7 May 1988) was a verified British supercentenarian who resided in Cheshire. Her husband was a methodist minister. She became a widow in the 1950s. When Phillipson was 92 years old, she began writing a novel called 'Stormy Road'. It was published on her 100th birthday. The foreword for the book was written by the noted Russian-British surgeon and author George Sava. She was still able to walk half a mile to church every Sunday when she became a centenarian. Aside from writing, she also had exhibitions of her paintings in Manchester, London and Birmingham.
