Laiko was a scientist from the Trann galaxy. He was the captain of a starship that crash-landed on a planet in the Milky Way Galaxy. He had created an age-ray machine that could keep his crew at a constant age long enough for repairs to be made to the ship. (TOS comic: "The Youth Trap")
