The Maldavi Sector is an isolated region of space located deep in the Unknown Regions. Roughly ten light years across the Maldavi Sector consists of several hundred stars and dozens of habitable worlds. The sector was first colonized tens of thousands of years ago by human civilizations in the infancy of space travel. To escape the wars of their era they crossed the intervening void of known space to the Maldavi Sector in ships traveling at sub-light speed. For the journey the colonists were kept in cryostasis until they arrived at a suitable destination.
