The Declaration of a New Order is a proclamation made by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in 19 BBY, first as an address to an Emergency Session of the Universal Senate and then to the general populace. In this speech, Palpatine proclaimed himself Galactic Emperor, legalized the extermination of the Jedi Order, officially ended the Clone Wars, and outlined his vision of the hence-forth abolished Galactic Republic into his new Galactic Empire. The anniversary of the issuing of the Declaration is Empire Day.
