The UNCITRAL Electronic Commerce Working Group (ECWG) was given the mission to: This recommendation was made at UNCITRAL’s meeting of its thirty-fourth session from June 25-July 13, 2001, in Vienna. The first draft of the convention was presented for review at ECWG’s meeting at its 39th session in 2002 in New York City, and was discussed in detail at the 44th session of the ECWG on October 11-22, 2004, in Vienna. The final version of the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce was promulgated in 1996.
