The EXE Clone Project was an experimental cloning project set up in the final year of the Clone Wars. This project initially delivered twelve successful clones that were created through recombining the DNA of Jango Fett, with the DNA of a Jedi Master named Rexar Djuun. Commissioned by Palpatine originally, Palpatine hoped these new Clone Troopers would be the leaders of the new army in the Galactic Empire when the transition had happened.
