The Tiger Man was once a pearl merchant operating on "The Lost Island" just off Singapore. Later he teamed up with a native named Sabbat, and staged his own kidnapping, in order to steal a ruby. He also tried to kill his niece, Rita Van Dyke, but he was stopped by Lash Lightning, who unmasked him.
