Borehamwood (/ˌbɔərəmˈwʊd/—originally spelt Boreham Wood), is a town in southern Hertfordshire, situated 12 miles (19 km) from Charing Cross making it the closest town in Hertfordshire to Central London. It has a population of 28,546. It is within the civil parish of Elstree and Borehamwood and the London commuter belt. There is one weekly newspaper, the Borehamwood and Elstree Times.
