Most people associate tarantulas with desert environments but there are many different species of these large, hairy spiders worldwide, so they live in many different habitats. The only limitation is temperature, as they cannot tolerate cold. Most are in South America, but there are others throughout Central and North America, from rainforests to deserts, and even some in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
