The actual Highway 30 deisignation begins just south of Port Alice as Marine Drive. It goes north to Port Alice, and then exits the town to the east. It then follows the western shore of Alice Lake to the northern shore, just south of Marble River Provincial Park. It then goes northwest to its junction with Highway 19, it termination, right between Port Hardy (to the north) and Port McNeill (to the south).
