The National Bee Journal was founded by N. C. Mitchell of Indianapolis, Indiana, circa 1869. * Vol. 3, No. 8 April 15, 1872 - listed as a semi-monthly with publishers, Moon & Schofield. * A subsequent edition (must have been Vol. 3, No. 9) includes A. F. Moon's departure editorial indicating he had been with the Journal only a few, short months, and that Wm. A. Schofield & Co. would continue. Moon would soon be joining another periodical, and could be contacted in Paw Paw, Michigan (p. 246). * Vol. 3, No. 10 June 1, 1872 - listed as a semi-monthly with publisher, Wm. A. Schofield & Co., and associate editors, L. C. Waite (St. Louis) and A. J. Pope (Indianapolis). N. C.
