A Dragon bar is the main component of Dragon weaponry and is first used in the Dragonsmithing minquest, which requires 95 Smithing and 95 Mining, along with completion of Legend's Quest and 245 Quest points. You obtain this bar after killing the Guardian Red Dragon and picking up the key and its scales. You then enter the dragon mining area filled with Brutal Red Dragons (which all commonly drop multiple amounts of Tough Red Dragon Scales), dragon ore veins (requires 95 Mining), and many coal rocks. You need 12 Coal and 1 dragon ore along with 1 Tough Red Dragon Scale (stackable), and a Smithing Level of 95 to smelt a bar, resulting in 90 Smithing XP.
