Even if a character is able to use magic, this does not automatically mean that they can use all kinds of magic and learn all spells. There are certain spells that are only available to characters of specific or . A human is not able to learn elven magic and an Elf can not learn a spell that is exclusive to humans. In addition there are certain spells that are only available to Full Mages. For example a Half Mage can never learn . But there are also spells that do not pose any restrictions on race and profession thus can be learned by all characters that are proficient with magic.
