Lebethron was a tree of Gondor, growing probably in the Ered Nimrais, much liked by the wood-wrights of Gondor. Its wood, or at least the wood of one variety of lebethron, was black. The staffs Faramir gave to Frodo and Sam were made of lebethron, as was the casket in which the Silver Crown was kept.
