The Ulmoltz sector, for most of the history of the Galactic Republic, was controlled by corporate interests. Most of its systems had no permanent inhabitants, and most of the space was controlled by the Confederacy during the Clone Wars. The one exception to this rule in the sector was the independent Border system, which had one habitable planet, Holt, which had sent the sector's representative to the Senate, and supported the Republic until its fall.
