The South Orbital Area was a staging area in the planet Taris' orbit used by the Mandalorian Neo-Crusader warriors during the Siege of Taris, part of the galaxy-wide Mandalorian Wars, in the year 3963 BBY. The leader of the Neo-Crusader forces on Taris, Cassus Fett, had starships captured by the Mandalorians taken to the staging area.
