Originating in the Ranet Province, the Costil family was one of the oldest and most successful political families on Naboo. Many of its members could claim some descendant from King Jafan, and had the Naboo/Gungan war not happened when the dynasty died out, causing the need to insure strong leadership, they might have taken over the throne completely.
