Harold Napier Cramond (1999-2000) was the second editor of The Beano, and was in the role for 25 years, becoming the longest serving editor of the comic. Born in Dundee in 1919, Cramond joined DC Thomson, and in the 1940s and 50s was responsible for the adventure strips in The Beano, writing many strips for Dudley D. Watkins, before becoming editor 1959, taking over from George Moonie. He retired in October 1984, handing over to Euan Kerr, and died in Dundee in 2000.
