Donald Pelmear appeared in Coronation Street in July 1967 as Mr Fitch, a Health Inspector who took the squatting Lawson family into care. He began acting in 1959 and has also appeared in The World of Tim Frazer, Public Eye, Special Branch, Counterstrike, UFO, Van der Valk, Doctor Who, The Duchess of Duke Street, The Sandbaggers, Yes Minister, Juliet Bravo, Agatha Christie's Poirot, In Suspicious Circumstances, Little Britain and Hotel Babylon. File roles include Elizabeth, Little Dorrit and Goodbye, Cruel World. Stage roles include a run of West Side Story in London's West End.
