Mr. Moriarty Seagoon Eccles is the Solla Sallew teacher of the year, as seen in The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss episode "Oh, the People You'll Meet." Mr. Eccles teaches the fine art of Goon-fooey and is also a noted Latin teacher. The character's three names are references to three distinct characters on the radio series The Goon Show: Count Jim Moriarty (played by Spike Milligan), Ned Seagoon (Harry Secombe), and the Famous Eccles (Milligan again). His martial art of choice, Goon-fooey, is likewise a reference.
