The Führer's Palace was the residence of the Führer of the Greater German Reich. It was guarded by soldiers from the elite Grossdeutschland Division who were stationed in nearby barracks. They were often seen parading in ceremonial dress and wielding antique Gewehr 98 rifles. However, they were also armed with the latest weapons including assault rifles and modern tanks. The Palace stood next to the Adolf Hitler Platz.
