The Macro Interface is used to create chat macros – this allows you to quickly repeat a message, which can be quite a time saver if you have something long you need to re-post regularly, like an event announcement. The Macro Interface has not been fully implemented yet, so many commands you attempt will not work. Warning: Yes, potentially, you can use macros to spam chat. This is not recommended and GM action may be taken if the spam becomes too much of a nuisance to others. Please use macros sparingly and responsibly.
