Despite its name, it shares no resemblance to sloths or lizards of modern time, nor is related to any of these species. It is actually a descendant of troodons that survived extinction of most non-avian dinosaurs and replaced the long-extinct therizinosaurs (which sadly didn't make it through the extinction).
