The M46 Rapid Active Transit System, also known as RATS, is a device used by the UNSC armed forces to rapid navigate urban terrain to often gain vertical navigation. The M46 uses a 250 foot long resin aggregate soaked carbon-fibre weave cable around a liquid crystal lattice core (with enough tensile strength to carry almost 6000 pounds) wrapped around a powered winch, deriving its power from a pair of hydrogen battery cells. The cable is attached to two titanium carbide expanding hooks, designed to electronically spring open either after penetration of a solid object or after a predetermined distance. The hooks are loaded into a launch tube and launched by a triplet of fin stabilized rocket boosters with enough power to launch it to 200 feet through solid concrete. Their electronic control
