Gurdyroot infusion was a foul-tasting beverage concocted from the Gurdyroot plant. As deeply purple in colour as beetroot juice, it was said that this drink tasted like bogeys. Shortly before the Ambush at the Lovegood House on 31 December, 1998, Xenophilius offered this drink to Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley when they came to visit. All three drank, and shared the opinion that it tasted disgusting; indeed, Harry could only compare it to liquidised bogey-flavoured Every-Flavour Beans.
