Green worm is a type of monster in ADOM. Like all worms they are capable of rapidly duplicating themselves, and can grow to huge numbers if left unchecked for too long (particularly if the PC is resting to regain HP). Their attacks can cause sickness on damaging hits, making them a severe nuisance to PCs early in the game.
