The World of Nightmares is a hellish dimension that makes up most of the playable content of the video-game Catherine and it is a strange and alien world where dying in one's dreams equals death in reality - it is also akin to a massive maze of complex puzzles which must be solved in order to escape, though few have ever managed to do so. While in this realm people are transformed into vaguely humanoid sheep, symbolic of "lambs to the slaughter" and their are a lot of symbolic items and locations, further empathizing the idea that this realm is "Hell".
