It was used by a local lord called Ignatius Verrieres who detained and interrogated the witcher Kolgrim of the Viper School over an alleged kidnapping of a boy. For unknown reasons, it was left neglected and is now in ruins. A group of bandits have later made camp there. One of them, perhaps their leader, left his writings to fight Geralt who raided their camp, which can later be found by the witcher. The ruins can only be entered by climbing and jumping onto rocky cliffs and building parts of the fortress at the forest side.
