Fred Sherman (May 14, 1905 - May 20, 1969) appeared in two episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. He played the recurring character of Burt Purdy on "Cimarron City". His film appearances include Lady in the Lake, The Hucksters, Chain Lightning, Mystery Street, Valley of Fire, Seven Men from Now, The Tall T, The Helen Morgan Story, The Deep Six, The Left Handed Gun, Damn Yankees!, Westbound, Al Capone and Some Like It Hot.
