At age 17, Jet Adkins was to be trained by Dean Malenko in the art of technical wrestling and after 3 Yrs. he left and signed to TNA where he one a few matches. His most prominent was against Raven where he was utterly destroyed by him but, Raven saw some potential in him and took him as an apprentice. For the first few month he kept Jet chinned in the boiler room and beat him twice a day with a kendo stick in order for the anger and torment to build inside him and consume him, he then later trained Jet to fight like him.
