Weil der Mensch zählt was the Austrian entry to the 2003 Contest in Riga, Latvia. Alf Poier wrote and performed the song himself. The song is in Styrian, a German dialect, and so far is the only song to be performed in Styrian. Poier performed second in the running order, however, he finished inside the top ten after the voting ended.
