Meg Taylor is the murder victim in The Baby in the Bough. While trying to care for her son Andy Taylor amid the chaos of her husband Lou's general disinterest in being a father and her home town's faltering economy, she uncovered evidence that someone at the tire recycling company where she worked was fiddling with the accounts to steal money for themselves. As she attempted to expose this information, she was discovered and run off the road in her car, dying in the subsequent explosion, Andy only surviving by sheer luck as the explosion threw him into a nearby tree in his car seat.
