Dan Cayford is a central defender who was promoted to the Rovers senior squad from the youth team in the summer of 2009. He graduated into the pro ranks at the same time as his fellow former trainees Neikell Plummer, Eliot Richards, Mark Cooper, Ollie Clarke, George Booth, Steve Kingdon and Jack McKenna, but was released after just a year without having made any first team appearances.
