The members have a young fox sealed within them as children, similar to how the tailed beasts and their jinchūriki can communicate the Inari can communicate with their fox, this is used to bond the two when they are young. The Inari due to the traditions of their fox sealing are known as demons (鬼, Oni), this may be on of the reasons the Land of Demons was named such.
