Cleansing Devotion is a large Covenant fleet commanded by Fleetmaster Val 'Volum. For nearly two years, the fleet would lay siege to the human-controlled Hyacinth system, losing many ships in the failed invasion of Jacinto. Following the end of the war, Val and Lod kept command of the fleet, even assisting the Sword of Sanghelios on occasion, despite the precarious relations between Lod and the fleet's Sangheili crew when news of the Great Schism arrived.
