A closet vegan is someone who believes in the vegan lifestyle but is worried about what other people would think if they were to declare themselves as vegan (or vegetarian). They typically avoid eating meat when given a choice, but would not refuse meat if offered. (If you watch carefully, you may see them pass it off to the dog or cat under the table.) The more acceptable the vegan lifestyle gets in this world, the more closet vegans will come out of their closets.
