Rufus came to Nottingham as the new tax collector (instead of Gisborne.) But he's come to have revenge on the Sheriff of Nottingham because he killed his father, Daniel Chauncey. He threatens Scrope's wife to make him help Rufus. He collected all the money but then steals it back. But that is where Robin Hood comes in kills him. When the outlaws try to capture him and his son, it backfires and he captures Allan and Kate, while the outlaws capture his son. He threatens to kill the two outlaws and almost kills his son at the end, but is thwarted when Robin Hood kills him.
