The Imperial Army was the ground force of the Dark Empire, a government formed by the One Sith Order and the former Empire-in-exile forces within the Galactic Federation Triumvirate. The Army carried out the land operations during the Triumvirate Civil War, beginning in 251 ABY, and greatly outnumbered the army of their enemy, the Alliance of Free Worlds. The Army was very similar in organization to the Imperial Army of the Galactic Empire, being a restoration of it. While the Alliance Army relied mostly guerrilla and defensive tactics, the Imperial Army carried out mainly offensive operations during the war. It was led by Sith commanders as well as a group of Grand Generals.
