The kids accidentally spill hot chocolate and ruin an old picture of Nanny as a roller-skating waitress at a 1950s diner, so they go back in time to take another one. The Babies imagine themselves using a box with wheels as their time machine, but Animal drifts away. The time machine is out of fuel, so they visit a temporal service station to be refueled, and the attendant directs them to Nanny's old business by putting their time machine in reverse (as the past is always behind us). The Babies then search for Animal in the Old West, and see the 1849 Gold Rush, then finally find Animal working as a bouncer in a 1920s speakeasy.
