Ao Kuang’s benefits are primarily offensive and especially useful for water maps. His East Sea technology lowers the cost of all ships, making war ships easier to mass and enabling the player to maintain control of the water. For land battles, he also grants Dragon Scales which provides more hack armor to infantry, archers and cavalry units. Regardless of which human soldiers the enemy masses, the player will have stronger counters. For Fu Xi worshipers, this can be used in combination with Dabo Gong’s Burials technology; players can make a small army of monks to convert enemy soldiers at tremendous speed and rely on these stronger new recruits who otherwise lack the benefit of unit line upgrades (unless they also are Chinese units of course).
