Janakir Khan is the former leader of the Khergit Khanate and the father of Sanjar Khan and Dustum Khan. According to Dustum Khan, Janakir left half his herd and land to be divided equally between his sons, however, Sanjar Khan apparently took all his father's properties and declared himself the sole khan of the Khergit Khanate. This angered Dustum, and explains why he intends to overthrow Sanjar for usurping the role which was to be divided between them equally.
